When it comes to babies and toddlers, there are a few common struggles that parents often want to help with—and I know this because I’ve been there too! Reflexology is a gentle way to support little ones with some of these everyday issues. Here are the top three concerns I see most often, and how I use reflexology to help (and why I have created the video guides to walk you through my routines on my other site The Reflexology Mummy:
1. To Sleep Better
Sleep is probably the biggest one, isn’t it? Getting babies and toddlers to sleep (and stay asleep!) can feel like a never-ending mission and when you think you’ve got it sussed, they change! Reflexology can be a calming part of the bedtime routine. My supporting sleep with reflexology routine focuses on relaxation & ‘sleep promoting’ points. I designed the routine to help little ones settle in for the night and for baby to sleep better. Adding a few minutes of reflexology to bedtime (or anytime during the day) might just make all the difference. I certainly notice a difference with my little girl’s sleep.
2. Constipation or Difficulty with Digestion
If your baby’s struggling with tummy troubles or may be constipated, I have designed a routine that works on the digestive system to hopefully help things along. It’s something I do with my own little one, and it can be a lovely way to help relieve some discomfort, alongside the usual advice around fluids and fibre. Just a few minutes of this targeted reflexology can be a comforting addition to their day.
3. Teething Discomfort
Teething can be tough—on babies and on us as parents! Reflexology can be a great way to ease some of that discomfort naturally. I use a simple routine for teething that gently works on points linked to easing tension. It’s a quick, soothing way to provide a bit of relief. And I hope will help them feel more at ease as those little teeth come through.
